MP4 to GIF
Drop a video and get a max quality GIF at full size. Drop a few images instead and they become one animated slideshow.
Runs in your browser. Your files never upload.
What happens to your files. Each video becomes its own GIF at its full size and 20 frames per second, with one 256 colour palette built from the whole clip and Sierra Lite dithering.
Only the part of each frame that changed is stored again, which keeps files smaller without losing anything.
Images become one GIF in name order, 0.6 seconds each, cropped to fill the first image's shape (longest side up to 2560 px), with a little extra colour and contrast and a palette of their own per frame.
Photos are turned upright first. Your browser decodes the video, so iPhone MOV files (HEVC) open in Safari and in Chrome on a Mac, but often not in Firefox or on Windows. Big videos make big GIFs. Need a size limit? Use MP4 to GIF (max 50MB).
